Re: Air Conditioning

I have the 134 refill and the fittings to update the system. Is that all I have to do? I've been trying to learn all I can about AC systems this weekend and was afraid I had to completely clean the whole system and replace the dryer, all O rings, etc... If this is not the case that'd be great! When...

Re: An 86 in West Texas

Howdy! Looks like there's lots of good folks here, and I've already read plenty of good advice! I bought my 86 from my aunt soon after my uncle passed away. He was the original owner, and only put 57,000 miles on it. I added a tilt column, cruise control, A/C and a wood grain instrument bezel - all...

Re: OBD1 connection

if you have the right connecter then you should be set. the connector has 2 small pins toward the outside and 2 larger ones on the inside. (small pin, large pin, large pin, small pin) then it will have one on a separate wire right near it. this is a power wire that should also connect into your ada...

Re: Air Conditioning

On R-12 systems the lowside fitting is the larger one, but when you change over to 134-A (if you use the adapters) the low side fitting is the smaller one. Another way of telling is the low side line is a larger dia and the high side line is smaller, the high side line goes from the compressor to t...

Air Conditioning

My B2 has a/c but its dead and uses the old R12. I've bought a bottle of the new stuff and the fittings but don't know which is the low side. I've found both the hi and low so I just need to know which is which. Is the low side near the unit that goes into the cabin or near the compressor?

Re: OBD1 connection

the crown vic being a 2002 would have the obd2 connector which was standardized as of 1996. pre 96 vehicles can have it anywhere, any shape, and give out only as much info as the company wants. you wil most likely have to take it into a dealer to have it scanned otherwise you will have to buy an ad...

OBD1 connection

Where is the OBD1 connection on 86 and 90 B2's? I bought a scan tool but can't find the connections. I found it on the 02 Crown Vic and it worked great. Had the 'check engine light' out in seconds. The code was out of gas which wasn't true.

Re: stock ride height

the one that sits lower in the rear is most likely like this because the leaf springs are sagged. this happened to mine. it will corner better like this because it has a lower center of gravity. i just replaced my leaf springs two days ago and it sits about an inch higher. if you want to replace yo...

Re: Mirrors

Thats what I did with mine. For the bottom I just drilled a pilot hole then used some small self tapping screws. Makes sure what you use on the bottom is short otherwise you will mess up your windows. Thats what I would do if I didn't have to take the inside door panels off. I need to free-up one w...

Re: stock ride height

ride hieght might be due to having 2 different models...your old shocks were wore out so they will be softer and the lt on the tires is for light truck I know the P=passenger and LT=Light Truck but what is the differance? They appear to be the same tire. They hold the same weight, take the same pre...

Re: stock ride height

Shocks only absorb the rebounding forces of the spring and take up some the road shock they don't hold the wieght at all. Your vehicle with sit the same hight with or without shocks in it. I'm "shocked" to hear that. Okay bad pun. I was looking at the B2 from the side and it sits lower in...
