Not disputing what 90redb2 said but I've had an 89 BII and an 87 BII both with 4"' suspension lifts and ran the stock drive lines front & rear with NO ISSUES.

Also you'll want to check you're toe-in to much toe-in and the wheels look like this( / \ ) after rolling foward and if they're toed out they'll look like this ( \ / ) after rolling foward.

That don't leave much you can trim away, why do you want to cut out some of the electronic stuff any problems with any of it?

On R-12 systems the lowside fitting is the larger one, but when you change over to 134-A (if you use the adapters) the low side fitting is the smaller one.
