Just one fuel pump?
I would like to change my 86 Bronco II 2.9L to just have one fuel pump instead of the low pressure in the tank and high pressure on the side rail. 2 pumps just makes it twice as likely that there will be a problem. And since the truck will not run if one or the other goes out I don't see sense in ha...

Re: runs untill its warm
Tek sir, My Bronco has sat in the yard since your last post on this thread. I finally got around to replacing the distributor pickup about 2 weeks ago. I had just bought the plastic piece thinking it would just bolt or snap in there once the distributor was off but thats not the case at all. Once yo...

Re: Mystery piece ID and general advice needed.
Could you get a picture of the mystery piece? Are you going to replace the oil pump while you got the pan off, might as well since you in there already? The piece could be a part of the oil pump shaft retainer. Even if your not going to replace the pump you can easily pull it off to have a look at t...

Re: runs untill its warm
Yea, when I replaced the TFI the 1st time I had already taken the hint to move the TFI off the distributor. I mounted it right up front in front of the radiator on the front support bar. I used a TFI heatsink that I pulled off a thunderbird, cleaned it completly with a wire wheel dremel tool and sha...

runs untill its warm (video)
87 Bronco II I got working finally by replacing the TFI and it worked for about a week with no porblems. Now the weather has gotten a bit hotter and it will die once it gets to normal operating temp. Since its almost summer time now it reaches normal temp much faster so its basically undriveable now...

Re: No Spark I think
Went and got a TFI module from O'Reilly's today. At $36.99 ($40.14 with tax) it was a bit more than the 29.99 others had mentioned that AutoZone sells it for but I figured I could just return it if tht turned out to not be the problem. As I fortold in my last post, yes, it was a bit tricky to get th...

Re: No Spark I think
Yes, I think it does have a TFI module. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s47/sadman_the/bronco/SAM_8434.jpg http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s47/sadman_the/bronco/SAM_8436.jpg There are 6 wires going to this TFI which is mounted to the distributor somehow. I'm not sure where the wires run from t...

No Spark I think
A friend gave me his 87 Bronco II which would not start for him after coming out of Home Depot. I've had it for about 3 months and I still can't get it to start. I have done quite a bit to it but now I'm stumped. At first I thought it was fuel related becauce when I depress the schrader valve on the...
