Nope. I guess that would just be a learning curve. I suppose that as long as you practice the above instructions, and not back up without it being in 4H, you would remain in the locked position. Switch out of 4H on the fly. I was most alarmed by the caution which states that if you are not locked in...

I'm still thinking that you have a weak battery. Drive that thing over to Autozone and have them throw a battery tester on it. IF that's not the case, you can pull the alternator right there in their parking lot and walk in to have it tested. Until you do these things, you're swinging in the wind.

The BII seats, like the Explorers have a steel base to them that can be unbolted (4 bolts). Remove you BII seats, remove the base, and then you can figure out how to mount the new seats to the base. Pretty straight forward unless the new seats have bases that are not removable.

A battery can die at the drop of a hat. Both brought on by extreme cold or extreme heat. Sounds like it could simply be a bad connection on your battery. A not so simple solution could be that your ignition switch is going out on you.

Hard to troubleshoot that without being there...
