If your driveline is hitting your crossmember you need to move, clearance or remake a different style crossmember. It's not hard to make a crossmember.

Don't know, if I could get away without a muffler I would ditch the cat. I would guess about the same just louder since all a muffler does is muffle :D

Get an EB 9" as well to keep the width the same, it's simple.
As for the leaf springs, search to see what Noboday used. It was a simple setup that worked well.

78-79 Bronco or 76-79 1/2 or 3/4 ton trucks will be full width and either 5 or 8 lug depending on what you want. If you go early Bronco it will be wider than stock BII by about 5 inches total but not full width.

Not a trany for a Jetta! Talk to a stealership and see if they will take it in trade as is or find a trany or put it up on Craigslist. You will take it in the shorts but I bet you will be ahead vs the 4500. Give Rick a call he may have some secret thing. Any way you go get it figured out fast, with ...

Depending on what you are doing will determine how the base surface needs to be but I often use plate steel or the drill press table.

IIRC there should be two, I don't own a BII so I can't tell you for sure but a friends was doing weird idle stuff and the line was the problem.

1 2 3 Blocks

I have two sets of 1 2 3 blocks, I used to use them everyday for a previous job and I use them from time to time in the garage for setup work now. These are made within three tents of a thousandth (.0003") so they should be good for shop use. Available here http://grizzly.com/ for $17 a set htt...

Transfer screws, worth there weight in gold

I have a few sets of transfer screws, I don't think I have ever seen anyone else use them. It's an easy way to transfer a hole pattern, I used them on my diff ring I built and got all the holes spot on, thought I would share. available at http://www.mcmaster.com/ http://www.mcmaster.com/catalog/113/...
