Re: Bronco II swap in a 4.0L

I did one on an 86 and it is not a plug and play.

I started by stripping down the two harnesses side by side and labled all the wires where they connected.

also do one system at a time. ie fuel, alt., and so on. it will help you to not get overwhelmed.

Re: Fuel pump issue....New Bronco II and need some advice

if you want to write something up and submit it to the main page I am sure Nobody will look at it. I always tend to go to the relay and check the wiring first when it is a fuel problem. deffinatly check the inertia switch under the driverside part of the dash. after that turn the key on but don't st...

before you get too far into it I would call around to local junk yards and see what a new case runs. if you can get another one for $50 just swap it out...

Re: 1988 bronco11, bad gas milege

when I fist got my 86 bii I drove it from KY to DE and it killed me on gas. I had done the samethings you did for a tune up. I think I used 4 tanks to get there. talking to my dad he said something about the o2 sensor. I replaced it and the difference on the way back was 1 tank less. my 90 honda can...

what in the ignition did you replace?

the mod. on the side of the distibutor is known for causing this problem.

Re: 1990 BII Hard to rev up and cuts out while driving

already replaced the module and pickup about a month ago cause it died with no attempt to start again. at no point in your previous posts did you say you replaced the mod. on the side of the distibutor... What controls spark advance and how? that mod. is what controls the timing did you check the p...

Re: 1990 BII Hard to rev up and cuts out while driving

first I would set the timing to the factory setting with a timing light and see what you get. if it doesn't fix the problem then pull you ign. mod off the side of the distributor and take it to auto zone to have it checked. have them check it a few times because it doesn't always read bad the first ...

Re: Do Dana 44 sas just bolt right up?

coil buckets will not line up with cups on axle, radius arms will need reworked to reach frame mounts. track bar will need work. it can be done but you have to figure a way to widen the frame or mounts where the suspension links are. this is realy only true if you are using a 78-79 D44. on that axl...

Re: Do Dana 44 sas just bolt right up?

The problem with those prices is shipping. at that weight I would say you are going to be close to the price I would ask. Area plays a large part in price also. EB's are like gold around here, you will have a hard time finding anything that even resembles an EB part. I already have disk brakes on my...

Re: Do Dana 44 sas just bolt right up?

71.5 is when the EB got the 44. the quickest way to tell an EB D30 from an EB D44 is the 44 has balljoints the 30 has king pins. on price I would say you are looking at used stock EB D44's starting around $500. I have one and I wouldn't let it go for any less then that because of how hard it is to f...

Re: tranny swap

I don't think any of them were realy good, except the mazda m50d that came behind the 4.0L.
you can ID it at the rangerstation.com on their main page and do some research on it.
