Re: 1988 Bronco II shuts off all of a sudden lately
The little tool Godzzila9992 speaks of is really a 5.5mm socket. Yes a 5.5mm! a7/32 socket should work but I bought the 5.5 from Ford. I also changed my screws after I took it off to S.H.C.S. (SOCKET HEAD CAP SCREWS) A.k.A allen head screws. I did this because it's easier to find an allen key than a...

Re: Can't figure out why it won't run - Very stumped!!
Replacing plugs and wires doesn't mean anything if you don't have voltage to them. The question Vabronconut asked was are you getting spark at the plug end. The ignition module, coil or rotor button may be bad. Also try lifting the distributor cap off and crank the engine just to be sure the cam isn...

Sounds like the result of being a 2.9L. I know people who run there 2.9's like this for years, including myself. A little Lucas helps but as the oil gets old you'll hear it come back. Drive it like you stole it!!!

Re: 1988 Bronco II shuts off all of a sudden lately
Do you have a tach? If so does it move when you go to crank it over? If it doesn't move it maybe an ignition module. Thats how I knew when mine went, but my tech was not factory,I don't know if that makes differance or not. Heck I'm not sure if I helped at all.

Red neck, just the same. Though it's hard to keep it red through the winter! I spend a fortune on tanning beds.

Re: Long term underbody paint?
Sheet metal must be rust free before coating. If your talking frame, wire brush all loose stuff and use POV15, I hear that's the good stuff. I've used tremclad paint, but be sure to use the brush on stuff! Also use many coats. I've had good results applying rubberized paintable undercoating over tre...

Don't let the wife/gf throw out those old baking pan and pie pans just because she burnt them up! These items are great for collecting degreaser after degreasing a part to work on. Also as an overflow for oil and other fluid. Think power steering line fix.

A little of the wife's finger nail polish works great as thread locker too! Just put a little duct tape over the bottle so the guys don't ask too many questions.

I assume your talking the upper mount, so ya junk yard. If you can, grind a X in the rivet head using a cutting wheel on a grinder then use an air chisel or regular cold chisel to knock,er off. good luck
