Re: transmission support brace

Hey i Know this is an old thread but i thought id update it in case anyone is looking. I found a bunch of places selling brand new ford oem replacements for the whole crossmember for around 150. I was about to pay a machine shop to turn down an over sized urethane bushing to replace the bushings in ...

Re: A4LD manual lockup

What kind of van?
Im gonna say that its probably not possible. but why would you want to? driving a vehicle in a gear thats too high for the speed your at will burn up your torque converter and probably overheat the gear itself. Is it not going into 4th on its own?

Keyless entry and remote start.

I just checked the tracking info and the remote start system i ordered will be there when i get home!! Its going to take some creative wiring but its got some really cool features. Roll the windows up or down with the remote. This i think is really cool, it measures the voltage at the window switch ...

Re: 88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (Updated 4/13/2010)

I Know this thread is old but I guess ill post this here anyway. Ive been having some weird problems similar to the ones described here. I replaces the IAC but I still have the same intermittent low idle. It never happens while driving and once it starts i can give it some gas and it stays running a...

Re: lift, rear driveshaft?

I guess its possible you might notice some power loss from having more than normal amount of gear lube in the differential. I don't know if you can actually damage anything from being over fill though. The only other thing I can think of that might be a problem is bleeding the rear wheel cylinders s...

Re: Need HELP!!!! 1988 bronco ii auto 4x4

I cant help you there. ive never had one with and auto T-case. the speed sensors should be easy to identify. the power for the motor should be a heavier wire than the rest. you can identify the 4l by probing the wires to see which one is on when its in 4l. whatever is left must be the 4h sensor. sor...

88 bronco II out-of-round wheels?

Ive got at least 2 wheels that are out of round. its not too bad but i can feel the vibration on the highway. im trying to get the old b2 back to perfect operating condition and the to-do list is getting pretty short. ive heard of places that can straighten bent wheels but i dont know if its worth t...

Re: The new family suv(86 bronco II)

Thanks. We love this truck. The alignment shop is not worth a crap. DO NOT Use B & B Tires in Hohenwald, TN they aren't worth a shit!!!! The tires both wore out on the inside. They fixed it and offered to take $5 off a new set of tires. Really? Your incompetence ruined a good set of tires. Did ...

Re: 1984 bronco II stalls sometimes at redlights.

hmmm. . . to be honest i didnt know the 2.8 had an oxygen sensor. but if that was the problem it shouldn't happen when the engine is cold. Does it only do it at a stop or will it do it whenever you put in the clutch for more than a sec? sorry man i dont know enough about the 2.8 to be much help. nev...

Re: Buying a BII

To fit the 31's, get coils and leafs from an Explorer. that will raise you about 2in's  Is it as simple as that? No other concerns with steering driveline binding? If so, that's awesome. Thanks! Almost that simple, you will need some drop down brackets for the control arm pivot points in the ...

Re: Need HELP!!!! 1988 bronco ii auto 4x4

Did you transfer the pins from the speed sensor on the old motor plug? the t-case position sensors should be inside the new motor. its either not detecting that its in 4h or there is a broken connection somewhere between the motor and the light. I would start shaking wires while somebody watches for...

Re: lift, rear driveshaft?

You can grind the the spring and shock brackets off and weld them back on further forward to tilt the pinion angle. this is going to cause long-run problems like the gear oil not getting to the pinion bearings. I would replace the cv driveshaft with one with u-joints. idk what the centerpiece in a d...

Re: Engine chocking when accelerating

if the distributor lock down bolt was loose you could have turned the distributor slightly while changing the cap and/or plug wires. the hesitation on acceleration sounds like retarded timing. You might want to borrow a timing light and check it. let me know if you dont have a manual i can tell you ...

Re: This has nothing to do with Bronco II

hooking up a 120 bulb to a 12v battery wont set any fires. it has a much higher resistance than a 12v bulb so less current goes through. It probably wont make much light if any though
