I would think that a Cambell-Nelson would have one for cheaper. I have found that VW is pretty good about keeping engine designs and bolt patterns. You might look at an older version. One thing to look for is that the diesels were geared a little lower than a gasser. They do use the same bolt patter...

Sounds like you are lacking fuel pressure.

On the 2.8 carb motor you can almost bypass all the emissions and it will run decent. Not that I would do something that is illegal. ;) It is good for offroad use only.

Typically the low fuel light is tied into the gauge. When the gauge gets to a certain level it turns the light on. Look into theat circuit or the bulb plug could have been swapped from a different light socket hiding the another probelm.

The reason for the gauge is to monitor the oil pressure while driving. If you get the engine warmer than normal while vehicle is under load, the oil pressure will drop off. This is a good indication that the cooling system isn't working properly and you could lose a motor. The light would be good fo...

In my experiences, the 7.5 spider gears will eat away at the center pin, with 31" or larger tires. I have had center pins wore almost 1/2 way through before I changed them. That is when I went to a factory L S. Randy's offroad said this would help with the wear. It did the job until I was ready...

I beleive that you bolt the radius arms up to the axle first and them find out where the the extend arms line up on the frame. Some kits require the crossmember for the trans to be modified. Have you gone to Duff and look for a PDF file with instructions? I had to do that with the lift that I am put...

If I recall correctly, 85 was externally regulated, and your 4.0 one would be internal. Something to think about in how it was wired.

Now you will have to buy a real truck tranny to handle it.

I am glad that mine came with one. :finger: BTW I just went to 4 inch turbo back exhaust. I am also trying to climbing the torque monster tree.

All I can say that my truck makes towing big trailers fun again. :redneck:

Some of the rangers used one that mounted in between the radius arms. I would try to find one off of a later model like an 89 or newer ranger or any of the exploders and BII's. These ones mount foward the front axle and are easy to make quick disconnects for.

Does the distributor have mechanical weights in side? I don't believe they do and that would mean you are not getting the full potential of the motor. We don't use vacuum advance on our race motors but the is still the means of mechanical. A good idea though.
