Anybody install wheel tubs in B2? Pictures or tips?

I've gone through several increments of trimming the rear wheel wells of the B2 but never have been able to eliminate rubbage, especially as the springs settled. Yesterday, I finally decided to cut out the flaired portion of the quarter panel and the factory tub. I ordered 40" steel "hot-r...

The 2.9L isn’t the most powerful engine around, nor is it the most fuel efficient, but if you keep it cool it should last a long time. It is pretty common to swap in a larger radiator (early Explorer auto tranny application) to prevent overheating and subsequent cracked heads. The Bronco 2 trannies ...

That looks similiar to the dust shields that came on my '77 EB disk front end, but I don't think mine had the vent holes. Mine were rusted and mangled so I tossed them w/o using any spacer. No problems in my case.

I still have a cheap Cambell-Hausfield 115 that I bought ~5 years ago. I used it for a lot of the d44 swap, but after tacking the leaf spring perches on and tacking the trac bar bracket together with the little welder, I took those things to a shop and had a real welder finish them. I know for a fac...

I really need to get off my butt and get a real welder so as to do that. It annoys the hell out of me when I go to your main page and see your rig there, with like a bazillion times more flex than my B2 (aka Mr. Stiffy). But the garage in my brand-new house doesn't have 220V. And my laundry room w/ ...

That was the one for sure, although I'm thinking he might have added some tube to the back since the picture was taken - might be wrong. He had a full load of passengers. The rig coming down the trail with him was a lifted TTB. I didn't get a good look at the chopped one at the entrance, but when I ...

WA B2 guys - Anybody at Reiter on Saturday, July 30th?

Were any of you part of the group of B2's at Reiter Index Wall trail last Saturday (July 30th)? I saw a chopped B2 at the mud pit entrance. One of the B2 guys warned me to stay right (good advice), while some of his cohorts, I think, were encouraging me to try the left hand line of sinkage that I ha...

Originally posted by Nobody Now I run stock fullsize bronco leafs, and it works very well for what it is. Definately better than the skyjackers. Are the Fullsize Bronco leafs 2.5" wide like the Rangers? Or are they wider (or narrower like the EB)? Did you use stock springs - how much lift did t...

Yeah, from the last picture its safe to say that my non-flexy front end title is secure. I didn't know that was alx's Explorer. Looks like it works well. Musta been prior to the doubler failure I recall him posting at RRORC about.

I am exaggerating my lack of flex a little bit, but it's definately not great. I think it has better articulation than my TTB ranger - which has extended radius arms - but not good for a solid axle and nothing like the wristed arm shots on your home page. I don't think the coils are an issue (Duff 3...

Well, I was just hoping someone was ready to take the title from me!

Mines actually getting a little better as my springs and bushings wear in (or maybe as my bushings wear out), but someday I'll have to do something about it.

That Sploder perched on your good fender looks like it has all the front-end flex of my non-wristed EB-style d44 setup - probably even less. And I think mine had set new SA RBV lack-of-flex records! Might be just the fact that he's so far tilted over, though. And what's wrong with the steering as yo...

Nice job on the doors and the top-chop. Seems like it had a good and eventful inaugural run. I'd love to copy those doors (functional and cool-looking), but after yesterdays run I figure I'd have all my flesh removed and be blinded from branches and blackberries. That fender does look like it was se...

B2 - Shuddering common?

Moderate shuddering normal? I have an 88 B2 with a stock 2.9 and mitsu 5-speed. When I bought it (essentially stock except for an obnoxious glass-pack), I drove it home via backroads, parked it, and began a ~1yr + axle swap. Did a d44/9” swap, and am running 37” MTR’s. 5.43’s or 5.38’s out back, can...
