old server is still available.

I probably won't import any old threads as it would be hard to bring attached pictures along. Beside, gives us some stuff to discuss again.

I hacked the arm in the middle of the inside plate. Nothing is set in stone. That's just how I chose to do it. Keep the pin hole and pivot hole somewhat close together. Makes it easier to pin the arm. I didn't do any pre heat. I suppose you probably should. I'm no welding expert. I also only weld a ...

it's not cast iron. You can just weld away. I wouldn't bother with the others side.

I've built 3 of them, and none of them have had any problems. If anything, it's the other arm you should worry about, as it's the one doing all the work.

I think summit sells them. I don't know what's good or not. I'd do a search on pirate and see what you come up with.

Basically it's where a valve is installed on your brakeline. Then you pump the brake and close the valve. The pressure is "locked" in the line and the brakes stay applied. This setup is used on some forklifts and stuff. Race cars use them too to lock the front wheels so they can get a hard...

Well, they never really worked for shit. If you adjusted the brake to actually work, the cable would just stretch. Then the drivers would take off with the brake still on. Then hot chunks of metal would fly off and melt the plastic fuel tank. Then I'd have to fix it all. Don't even get me...

Can't help with the driveline brake supplier, but I can say I hate those things. I was soooooo happy when hummers switched to an integrated parking brake on the rear calipers. Brakes belong at the wheel.

Anything less than a Dana44 and you're wasting money. As I've said many many times, for the price of a decent lift "kit", you can have 6+ inches of lift AND a solid axle.

Otherwise, skyjacker is probably your best bet.

If I were going to go full width, I would find an axle with welded wedges. I would rather move the wedges than space the buckets and radius arm brackets out off the frame. Aside from being cleaner and less work, moving the wedges in gives you some extra tire clearance. If you were going EB width, th...

I only cut along one side of the arm. I bevel the inside so the plate will set flat in the arm. Then I bevel the outside a little so I can get a good weld that is flush. If the gap is too big, it takes a bit to fill in. Once the outside plates are tacked on, drill 2 small holes in the back half of t...

How many miles on your BII?

Me, 189K on my 1984 BII. Of course it's on it's third engine, and nearly nothing is original.

I have a JVC GR-DVL315U. Like that means a whole lot right? It uses mini DV, the real little tapes. It works great. In fact it is good enough that I use it for some of my broadcast shoots. It has 525 lines of resolution which is as good a some broadcast cameras, although most of them are up to 800 ...
