Re: Not your normal power loss from AC

i have seen compressors completly kill the motor. the fuel trims go into closed loop when the o2 sensors reach a certain temperature and actually start reading. the temperature of the motor does not affect open and closed loop.

Re: fuel issue? piston issue? electrical issue?

just thought of this to. check your timing. my 88 when i first got it had exact same symptom. only mine is standard. turned out the rotor wheel in distributor was rusted and messing with timing. i found the problem on accident replacing the rotor.

Re: fuel issue? piston issue? electrical issue?

it should not idle that high. sounds like something is out of calibration. im not sure if it has an idle air control valve. could be an egr valve. and you should check the reference voltage on your throttle possition sensor. at closed throttle should not be above 1v. at full throttle should be no mo...

Re: Engine Starting Problems

This is what i do. seat the distributor. as you pull up on it, the shaft and rotor turn as it raises. it takes a couple of minutes bit it works. seat the distributor. if the rotor isnt pointing where it needs to, raise the distibutor. do so slowly so you can feel the gear un-mess. move one tooth ove...

Re: Brakes build too much pressure

When it happens, isolate the problem. put all four wheels in the air and see if just one is locking or multiple. this will narrow your search. if your proportioning valve is sticking, slamming on the brakes hard at about 10mph usually unsticks it. if all are locked up i would say master cylinder. if...

Re: oil pan sensor?

It is possible to get the pan off without pulling motor. but it helps if you have small hands. take the distributor cap off and raise the motor in truck. lift as far as you can without damaging the distributor. take the pan loose and let it hang. the oil pump pick up tube has to come off inside the ...

Re: 85 Bronco II will not turn off with key

Pull your ignition switch out and turn your key. see how much movement the rod has when you turn the key. also grab the rod and make sure that it doesnt have a bunch of slop. i think the wholes to mount the ignition switch are slotted. try sliding it a little to give the rod more pull. you might jus...

Re: bad gas

i used to be a boat mechanic. johnson evinrude makes some stuff called 2+4. it is amazing. it is a cleaner, stabilizer, and removes water. especially well on the water. me and my brother took a water bottle that was half full and put just a little 2+4 in it and let it sit over night. the next mornin...
