I always had to use a wrench(box end). Sockets didn't fit right. Then I would tap it with a hammer to break it loose. Custom impact wrench I guess you would call it. :redneck:

Already scraped the Cheby. Made my moneys back and got some extra's for the heep I am building. I did keep the good axles off of the Ranger for when I go though the extra heep axles. I gotta keep the kids warm. :redneck:

Why are you going to put that motor in something that you are not going to off road anyways??? Might as well keep it in the car!!! :finger:

BTW I sent the Ranger down the road yesterday. I did keep the axles for the next family rig. I hope you have as much fun as steve does with his motor.

800 series Scouts came with 4 cyl motors. They were also smaller than a Scout II. I would buy the Scout, cause they are more capable wheelers and like Rockcrawler said they are tuff.

No I avoid that. I picked up a heep in Rieter pit that was smashed and then I hauled some Leachate. I know that you get payed to stay home with the kids when they are sick. That is why I have to, my wife doesn't. I am dragging my new project out today to start the transplant of a new heart. I am fee...

I would look for a t-case trans combo. You already have to get the t-case. then you will have to convert the trans. it will be cheaper and easier to buy the existing setup. You can sell the 2 wheel trans and recoup the costs. the front axle swap should be fairly easy. Welcome aboard, RECRUIT!!! :red...

The flu's and colds are going around. My kids have been sick off and on for 2 weeks. So when you get the Bronco done do I get...

Between my Rangers and my BII's the gauges seemed to work till about half a tank and then they would dive to the E mark. Sometimes it would crawl back up and go back down. The sending unit in the tank seems to get a flat spot. I would always set the trip meter and ran till about 228 miles. I never r...

I believe it is against the law to modify your vehicle from the original spec that it came from the factory. (in the state of WA) A big emission no no. That being said, most of the time they will not inspect under the hood if you do pass. If you don't they will look and the harassment begins. I have...

Where I am from 135 in a 65 isn't a ticket it is a quick ride to the local barred window Motel. You would be lucky to bury the speedo on a bII.

It does sound like it is the prob. When an EGR goes bad (whether it is stuck or the diaphragm is cracked), it will give you the symptoms of a huge vacuum leak. Which is apparent in the lower rpm's. Your rig will run in the higher rpm's because that is when the EGR opens.

3/4 of the way is pretty good. I would like to see it move though (higher when cold, lower when ran for a while).
