Re: useing taps and reamer question?

well, I got a 4x4 jeep but its a DD and I realy don't trust it to even hit mud holes. it's got the AWD system with the bad transfer case. so I am kinda in the middle. if I can ever get some time I think a few weekends would get me realy far on my F100. the Bronco has turned in to more of a long term...

Re: useing taps and reamer question?

lol...it depends on what you mean by underway? I have been gathering tools over the past few months. doing some research and alot of thinking on direction of a few things. I have a few other parts laying around for other projects so I plan to set up those first as practice. to be honest...kids and w...

Re: useing taps and reamer question?

I have a chop saw I planned to use to cut my tubing. didn't think about using a nut on the taps though...good idea! thanks for the tips!

did y'all drill the knuckles first before reaming or did you just start on them with the reamer?

useing taps and reamer question?

I was wondering if anyone had advice for using a reamer and taps

I am working on my steering and got the reamer and taps for the chevy TRE conversion. wondering if ther are any tips or tricks to get a better result.

I planed to get some cutting oil for both and use my drill real slow for the reamer.

Re: 5.0 Install

I think there is a difference between the HO dist. and a non-HO dist. if you try to intrechange them the cam will chew up the dist. drive gear and put metal shavings in the oil pan.

Re: 2.9 to 4.0 swap manual to auto

your just going to have to try the drive shaft. I think you have a good chance the BII drive shaft will work, but if it doesn't I paid around $80 to have one cut down before so it's not to bad. not sure on the cluster but if they are the same I don't see why you would have to. it realy just boils do...

Re: 2.9 to 4.0 swap manual to auto

personaly I would just pull motor/trans/transfer out of the explorer and put it all into the BII at one time. it should all just bolt in. I "made" my fuel lines work, but I think you should be able to use the explorer fuel lines. I can tell you from experience that you cannot just plug the 2.9L line...

Re: 5.0 Install

to be honest, I wouldn't chance it if you are not sure. distributors are cheap. I would just go buy a new one that is the right application.

Re: Rough idling after tune up

this is just a thought but did you pull the wires off and check the resistance in each of them?
if you didn't change the wires maybe you seperated one or two when you removed them?

just a thought...

Re: SWAP start (finally)

building a Bronco II is much easier than a early bronco. X2 mine has been gutted ever since we moved in to our new house. just don't know what direction I want to go with it and the F100 project has been pulling me away from it. When things get back going again, I will finish this beast up.... (or ...
