I have the 4
' on my 88 and you need to install it the way they say. The drop bracket on the left side needes to be installed on the old bracket before you put it back on the frame. Some triming needs to be done on some of the kit. All in all it seams to be fine.

My wife has a XJ and I must say my bronco II will go more places and over more rocks then the XJ. We both have 4" of lift but hers hits rocks that I just drive over. I don't drive the XJ off road it's not as much fun.

I would have to say it sounds like the release bearing, and if you have to replace it you might as well replace the clutch and press plate when you have the trans out.

You should leave the pump in and use it as a air pump.

Long lake is in the High Lakes OHV park. It is east of Chico Ca. about 1 hour east of Paradise. If you have a good TOPO program you can find it. It is also open in the winter and the snow gets up to 15'. When I go up this winter I will post some pics. If you want to see some movies you can go to 4X4...
