Re: replacement seats
If you're using it as a work vehicle or even as a nice driver, I wouldn't go with aftermarket as they can be quite pricey. Ranger seats, Explorer, BII, Tempo, Mustang seats will all work quite nicely. If you pull your BII seats and remove the steel base of the seat you can bolt it right on (in most ...

Re: What did you do with your Bronco II today?
I looked at my 'lil 84 sitting out there this morning past my lil Ranger as I got into my big Ranger to come to work. Lots of ice, snow and now extremely windy. My commute is 72 miles one way and it has become the wearing out part of my vehicles over the years. The 84 was my last worn out when it ...

You are going to have to open up the door and look at the mechanics of the window motor.

Re: 1990 BII Front axle/differential
You can do all the checking you want SAFER by just propping up the front wheels one at a time. Jack up the driver's wheel, leave the truck off, put the truck in 2wd or even neutral and on the driver's side you can reach in and spin the front drive shaft by hand. You can check the driver's side axle ...

Re: 1984 2.8 to 1986 2.9
Fuel tank, fuel pump etc. The 84 is not fuel injected and has a mechanical pump. Just pull the '86 right up next to the 84 and start the swap..

Re: What is my best bet on doing a engine swap?
That's a tough one. Besides the 4.0/89 Explorer statement, the 2.9L is NOT a bolt in swap. The 2.8 is a normally aspirated engine (carburated) while the 2.9 is a fuel injected engine. The 2.9/4.0 is virtually a direct swap because you would already have the wiring and fuel system in place along with ...

Re: 1985 Bronco II 2.8 L Will not advance
Did you disconnect or reconnect the wire from the distributor that is hanging on the firewall? If I recall that wire will not allow the distributor to advance so that you can time it correctly. Check your manual.

Re: Need new carb.
Keep the stock carb. The 2150 is arguably the best 2 bbl made. Get it rebuilt or do it yourself. I'll sell you one that works extremely well for $1100 (rustless BII included)

On my '88 2.9 I had what looks to be the same problems, it would rev fine, but under load it did the bucking bronco thing. One item that NEVER showed up on the scans was the O2 sensor. Changed it out and all was fine.

Re: $800 budget, need new engine or rebuild, help!
I'll sell you a '94 Explorer with everything except wheels in GOOD running condition for $800. Front axle is probably bad though.
Re: 1984 C5
I can/will do that; but that'll just give the date of mfgr. Anything else it would tell you? I haven't retrieved the BII yet. Don't have anywhere I can put it that doesn't have a foot of snow and my Ranger won't pull it the last 1 1/2 miles which is still ice/packed snow and it's tooo damn cold on ...
