Re: 2 in body lift?
yeah, you will fit 31's with the body lift. You could probably fit them now with a little bit of trimming. Make sure to get the steering extension with the lift. It will make you feel a little top heavy but it will give you no real advantage off road other then it will let you run bigger tires.

Re: BII 302 Tranny Questions
your flywheel will work with the NP435, but it will work better if you get the hydro bell housing. I am installing a NP435/205 combo in my f100 if you want me to give you a measurment. I think the bell housngs are the same but you might want to check on the starter location just to make sure. also ...

Re: transfer case recommendations?
the D28 will not handle those tire sizes. if you wan't to run 38-40's you realy need to have either a built D44/9" combo or D60/14bolt combo. this will involve you doing a solid axle swap.

my personal opinion is that if they are good leave them alone. They are not that bad to do but time consuming and like you said old bolts break...

Re: transfer case recommendations?
gear will totaly depend on tire size, the big question is what axles are you running? personaly I like the 205 case, but the low range sucks. the D20 is my next favorite. both are gear driven so they will last longer then the newer style cases. when you are selecting your gears you need to think ...

Re: wierd sounds
hit some junk yards and you might find them for cheap, but they might be in just as bad shape as the ones you have. you can buy new aftermarket hubs. google it, you have a Dana 28 front or a Dana 35 depending on the year of your truck. and no it is not realy going to hurt you driving it like that ...

Re: rebuilding a 302?
do a google search on e5's and e7's. from what I remember those are the 2 common factory heads for the 302. some explorers came with better heads also. the things you need to look at when looking at heads are valve size, cc's on the combustion chamber and if anyone talks about "flow". I have a buddy ...
