This could be the problem, also could be a faulty connection on the single wire coming off the dist.
You will need a special tool to take the TFI module off the back of the distributor.
cheap at the auto parts stores.

My brother terry gave me a ranger he's had sitting next to his house for awhile.
all i need to do to it is change the flex line on the front drivers side caliper and drive it.

The bronco will be parked a long time until i can source a nice 2.9 or 4 banger ranger motor for it I guess.

My wifes 1984 Bronco II has a tired stock Motor 2.8 V6 with an auto trans, she just mentoned dropping a different motor in it, "I" was thinking, since we dont need to have emissions anymore on it that dropping a different motor like a 4cyl or something smaller in it like maybe a Tempo engi...

right now it will run if I keep the pedal Mashed to the floor, but if i let off it the truck wont idle.

Wifey wants it running again to go to & from work so she doesnt get her newer car dirty from all the mud at their office parkinglot.

Shes a construction companies officeworker.

So how hard are the stock 1984 b2 carbs to rebuild? it has a gutless 2.8 v6 and its an auto w/cruise.

yep , real easy ! loosen 5 screws and drop cover on floorboard. loosen 2 hoseclamps, pull off hoses. push core hose tubes with finger and let it drop on floorboard next to cover. go around to passenger door and grab core, throwing it across the yard to relieve frustration if any. stuff new one up in...

Heater Core replacement

How hard is it to remove and reinstall a heater core in an 84 B-II ? Yesterday we were heading down 167 in auburn (near Emerald Downs) and everything was putting fine. A short second later BOOM ! I cant seem to figure out why my engine wont idle down . I hooked up the ford reader to the wires & it gave me Codes : 23 / 54 / 68 / 10 . I cant find the manual that goes with this reader , could someone help me out ? I checked the wire connection under the manifold & its still connected , ...
