Re: 1987 diesel Bronco II
well, I hated to do it, but after a lot of work, I ended up going a different direction with my project. the motor I had would not fit right due to the major modifications of the frame, I wanted this to be a daily driver and I didn't feel comfortable modding the frame. so I sent the Bronco II out to ...

Re: oil pressure rising slightly
my guess is the oil pressure sending unit is faulty. try hooking up a mechanical oil PSI guage. or if you know how, test the sending unit with a multi meter - checking resistance while off and with engine running. I dunno the specific range it should be so you may need to call around to a dealer ...

Re: 1987 diesel Bronco II
well, I just didn't like the way the motor was sitting so.. I'm swapping in a solid front axle, I picked up a Dana 30 out of an EB, I know, it's not as good as the dana 44 but it was way cheaper. only paid 100 for it,besides I'll just take it easy on it until I can afford a dana 44. picked up some ...

Re: solid front axle swap
just picked up a EB Dana 30 (wanted a solid axle but couldn't afford a Dana 44 at this time), any way, getting ready to start the install and wanted to know if you have to lift it in order for the axle to fit or can I keep it more or less stock height, first things first though, swapping out the ...

Re: 1987 diesel Bronco II
quick update and pics put the motor in for the first time last night, taking measurements and getting ready to make the motor mounts. on a side note, gonna need a hood scoop!! that dang diesel is tall!! the oil pan has about an inch to go before it hits the cross member and the top of the motor is ...

Re: 2.8 dist
on my first Bronco II, I replaced the the stock distributor with one out of a late 70's pinto with a 2.8l V6, worked great. brand new one from the parts store was less than $50.00 when I did it.

Re: 1987 diesel Bronco II
Motor's complete now, doing some clean up and paint then I'll get pics and post them. Going with the ZF 5 speed and the Dana 20, so needed an adapter. Ordered the transfer case adapter from Advanced Adapters the other day. here is the stock photo from the web site of the adapter kit.

question
I picked up a NP 205 transfer case the other day, trying to bolt it up to a ZF 5 speed, any way, looks like I'm going to have to grind off where the transfer case bolts up due to the shift rail on the t-case. is this a good idea?

Re: 4BT cummins in a BII
you might want to try and find a Herculese - even though parts are a little hard to come by, there are still distibutors of the parts though.

Re: 4BT cummins in a BII
the benefit of going with a diesel is that if you can find a source of used veggy oil you could potentially make your own bio-diesel for around $0.50 to $1.50 a gallon.
