Next time you have this problem make it easy on yourself. Some auto parts stores rent tools. What makes the job easier is a large 2 or 3 jaw puller. Make sure you have white greese on the threads of the puller. As you tighten it use the hammer to hit the end of the threaded shaft where you use the s...

Will it fit? The 157 tooth and 164 tooth V-8 converter looked a lot bigger than the 2.8 v-6 one.

Bob Myers wrote:With a 4.0 you can flash the converter to about 3200 rpms. Not good for a dd. The V8 unit will only flash to about 1900.
I have noticed that as I turns about 2900 rpms at 65 and with the cruse contol on if it approaches a small hill the RPMS will jump to 3200. Anyway to fix this?

The C-5 folks are talking about came in the 84 BII and the 83 and 84 Ranger as the only auto tanny (may have been an option later in the Ranger). You can do a search at CarPart for them. All BII's had a t-case, even the 2wd ones(had a dummy box). And will bolt up to any 1350/1354 t-case. The 2.8, 2....

The early BII's had a double cardan driveshaft. Not to be mistaken for the CV style driveshaft. There is also a single u-joint (one in each end) driveshaft that was used. The double cardan used a 1210 u-joint and attached with a yoke. The other two use flanges to attach. So you just need to find a t...

This is the best write up I have on the 35 upgrade: http://www.broncoii.org/techpages/autom ... index.html

The 28 is slightly different in as it has a small bearing washer and another washer in addition to the splined washer on the end of the axle shaft.

95 would be the first year for the SLA front axle. TTB was 91-94. The rear should work fine though. May even have disc brakes if you want to mess with rigging up the parking brake.

Dana splits the gear ratios with two different carriers. Ford dose not. So no need to change the carrier in the rear. The front is another story. For a Dana 28 TTB the break is at 3.73 and higher numerically (4.11, 4.56, ect..). Maybe some of the confusion is because other Dana axles split at differ...

For good low end torque stay below 204 degrees duration @.050 lift on the cam. I like the the stock 351W 4bl. cam of the late 60's. You can run the the 351w firing order in the 302 and it seperates #7 & #8 firing close together. I like a stock 2bl carb and manifold. Or you can use a stock 4bl ma...

Makes a body lift as expensive as a suspension lift when you do it right. Sometimes the ears on the frame need to be replaced also. And floors repaired. The back two positions, #4 and #5 are not available new. They screw together (with reverse threads I think). Positions #2 and #3 can be difficult t...
