That does sound like the issue when the torque builds up it slips out of gear and grinds, I didn't bleed the hydraulic line after putting back in, I will do that when I put it back in this time. I did check the throw out bearing and it is shot and got a new one.

Ok when I put it in reverse and go, it goes for a few feet and slips out of gear and grinds and I have to take it out of gear. It just started after I took it out to change the head gaskets. There was nothing wrong with the clutch before this.

would the throw out bearing make the clutch slip out of gear?
