Re: engine swap

Since it appears you've given up on the 2.9, you might consider a 4.0 swap. Lots written about this on different forums. You don't mention the vehicle involved, but swap is easiest on 89 and newer Rangers and B2s.

Re: Model years with rear access window?

Sorry to reply to old thread, but the sales booklets for the B2 listed the "flip open rear window" as an option every year except 1990. If you ordered the window, you couldn't order the washer/wiper with defroster. While searching for my current B2, I saw lots of 87s with the flip open win...

Finally!

After searching for my next B2 (I have owned 2 89's in the past) since March, I finally found the right one. I was a few weeks of giving up until spring when I found an 89 posted on the Salt Lake Craigs list. Its a one owner, XLT, 5 speed, Cabernet Red with the white side panel and a GRAY interior. ...

Re: dash board

IIRC, the computer is behind the right kick panel. You might be able to surface mount a speaker there, but no flush mount. But I wouldn't want the speaker magnetic driver that close to the brain box.
