Re: my 86 b2

It looks like it used to be some sort of fire service vehicle. My B2 was AWESOME for carrying fire gear!

I like the paint job. Can you post more details on the paint you used? how did you apply it?

Re: Budget Build 86 B2

I decided that with the winter weather approaching, it was time to think about the 4x4, and getting it working. After pulling the dash apart and running all the tests, testing the switches, module, and wiring, I decided that the transfer case motor was bad. I crawled under and started taking it off....

Re: Bronco 2 Start and Stall

Sounds like the IAC valve to me. Maybe dirty throttle plates too. How does it run once it is warmed up? Does it lose power driving down the road?

Re: Budget Build 86 B2

Maybe I should update this since I have actually been driving the B2 for about a month now... I stripped the lower intake of the injectors and fuel rail. I noticed that there was a lot of black deposit in both the upper and lower intake. I cleaned them out using Easy-Off Oven cleaner and later gradu...

Re: AC Condenser lines leaky and stuck. HELP!

I finally got the AC system finished. I had to heat the lines at the condenser with a torch to free them. I polished them up and put new O rings on. Works like a champ.

AC Condenser lines leaky and stuck. HELP!

I am in the process of repairing (Replacing would be a better term) my B2 AC system. I have a new compressor and accumulator. The lines were leaking at the spring loaded condenser connection. I have the tool, but the lines seem to be seized together. I really don't want to spend another $200.00 to r...

Re: Air Conditioning

I know this is an old post, but the summer heat is here again! So I thought I would chime in. I am working on my B2 AC system. Honestly, the BEST way to convert your system is to remove the compressor and dump all of the oil out of it, clean out the lines and put it all back together using Ester oil...

Re: Budget Build 86 B2

He doesn't know where I live. so I am not worried much about that. The first order of business was to do some diagnostic and see what this thing's ailment really was. I had been told that it had a blown head gasket, but without some sort of troubleshooting, I wasn't about to go digging into the moto...

Budget Build 86 B2

Back in February, I was able to get an '86 B2. Dude had it on Craigslist and wanted $400.00 for it. he told me that he had a title for it. I got there, decided I wanted it, loaded it on the dolly and was ready to hand over the cash... until he showed me a title that had someone else's name on it. It...

Re: Head gaskets...

It isn't a problem to have water drain into the cylinders... IF you dry it out and coat the cylinder walls with oil to keep them from rusting. It is a good idea to put oiled rads in there too if you are going to have it apart for a while, and you MUST change the oil before running it again! You don'...

Re: Head gaskets...

Get a block tester and look for exhaust in the coolant. Do you have water in the oil? Is there an excessive amount of moisture coming out of the exhaust pipe? Does your overflow resovoir inflate like a balloon when you shut it off? If none of these conditions are present, your heads and gaskets are ...

Newb here from NC. I FINALLY got a title or my B2...

Hi Guys! I am new here. I recently got a B2... Actually, I have had it for a while now, but couldn't get a title for it... Okay... Here's the story: Guy on Craigslist selling an 86 B2 with blown head gasket... I thought it was cool. he didn't want more than I was willing to pay, so I went to look at...
