Re: Tranny reinstall problems...need HELP

WOOHOO! We got it all put back together today and got it on the road. We were finally able to get the tranny back on yesterday afternoon and went to the next step of bleeding the hydraulic clutch. Well we ran into another problem, the NEW slave was bad and leaked immediatley. So of course the entire...

Re: Tranny reinstall problems...need HELP

I don't think they took too much off but I'm not sure exactly how much they took off.
Looks like will be taking it all apart again tomorrow to check the disc plate. This is so frustrating.

2.8L
Still wrestling with it. Ugh
We did put a small amount of grease on the splines, I think that might help. It's just getting that dang thing all lined up.

Tranny reinstall problems...need HELP

We dropped the tranny to replace the slave and clutch. We had the flywheel resurfaced and we reinstalled that as well. The problem now is that we cant seem to get the bell housing close enough to the engine block to rethread the bolts to put it all back together. We thought maybe the splines where n...

Re: Bad clutch?

Thanks for the advice. I picked up a new clutch kit from criagslist for $50. Still can't believe I found that deal. Still looking for a decent priced flywheel someplace. I would like to just have mine resurfaced, hate to buy something new if I don't have to, but can't seem to find anywhere that can ...

Re: Bad clutch?

Dang internal slave. I have heard about people with jeeps converting their internal slaves to externals. Any tech on how we can do that with our B2s?

Re: Bad clutch?

It does appear that I might have a slow leak from the reservoir. Hard to tell for sure as the engine compartment is real dirty everywhere! I am going to be cleaning it up tomorrow morning before I do any other work. I sprayed it all down with some good degreaser tonight and will let it set for a bit...

Re: Bad clutch?

Oh yeah definitely going bad, barely limped home tonight. Pedal is now very slow to come up after being pressed.

What is the cheapest route to fixing this you think? I'm a poor student. My dad can help me with the work but need to know about parts and such.

Thanks

Bad clutch?

My 85 B2 is shifting strange. It's new to me so not sure if it has always done this but hope you all can help me figure this out. The clutch peddle does not feel like it has too much play or spongy at all. When I shift (no matter what gear) I need to let the peddle almost completely out and give it ...

Starting issue

OK I just got a new-to-me 1985 Bronco II. It starts GREAT first thing when it is cold and has not been started or running for a few hrs. It is pretty cold here in Salem right now, in the 30's. The weird thing though is that if I have had it started within a few hrs it is a little difficult to start ...
