Re: welding tips

I've had good luck just clamping a piece of scotch brite or steel wool to the wire just before it goes through the rollers so it cleans itself off before it even hits the rollers and i dont have to remove the spool and refeed it through the gun every time i want to use it.

Re: Starting off right

im with ranger dave the 4 inch will get you plenty of room in those wheel wells then the explorer axels will add the beef you need for the bigger tires and if you regear those axels there will be no need for the bigger engine the 2.9 with a rebuild will definately do the job and get decent fuel mile...

Re: Priming the oil pump

you can always finish puting the engine in the truck and just pull the coil wire off and roll the engine over in intervals of 10 seconds about half a dozen times or more and watch for oil pressure to rise on the gauge b4 hooking the coil wire back up

Re: lowering the hitch?

have somone just heat up the nut on that old hitch ball with a torch and hold the ball with a pipe wrench and use a box end wrench to take the nut off that way you dont ruin your old hitch ball instead of cutting it off
