Re: grinding sound when taking off from a stop

Mine has a bad sound when starting from a stop. It's the front joint on the rear driveshaft. The seal had been torn off, and all of the grease hes been thrown out, and the joint is bad. Get underneath, and have a look at the boots.

Re: How do I engage and disengage manual 4WD BroncoII ????

You do have to engage the hubs if they are manual. There will be markings on which direction to turn them. If you have an automatic trans, put it in neutral with your foot on the brake to engage low range. Sometimes you might have to let it roll a few inches to take pressure off of the driveline. To...

Re: fuel delivery problems, any ideas?

Mine did the same thing, and I replaced the fuel inertia switch under the dash in the middle on top of the trans hump. No problems since. I would start it up, go to work, go to start it, and nothing. I would reach down, push the reset switch, and drive it home. Did it a second time, I replaced it.

Re: 88 b2 2.9fi manual starts easily, then konks

On the right side of the intake facing it from the front there is a fuel pressure regulator bolted to the fuel rail near the back of the engine. Right in front of it, there is a valve that looks like a tire valve. That is where you check the fuel pressure. Autozone, and Schucks have testers you can ...

Re: idle speed

What year is it? If it's fuel injected, there is an idle solenoid on the left side of the intake when you look at it from the front. It controls the idle, and if it's plugged or sticky it will cause low idling issues. Most of the time you can take the idle motor off, and clean it with some carb clea...

Re: Someone with an EVTM (shop manual) please help

Could be a grounding problem, or feedback through the control switch you wired in. Check all connections really good, and check voltages in and out of the switch. Then you can check resistance through the switch as well. Usually when lights glow like that there is a ground issue.

Re: 88 to 89 2.9L BII 4X4 engine swap

You will have to change the flywheel. They are different, the auto uses a flexplate, and the standard uses a regular flywheel. Maybe you already knew that tho.

Call LMC, and ask them what color it is. Simple cure.

Re: Oil Selection

I use Castrol for everything, including my ATV's and motorcycles. It's a matter of preference I guess. I have never had any kind of problems with it, it's readily available anywhere.

Re: Throttle and idle issues

I am almost positive that is the right guage, I checked mine, and it's 10 guage. Just make sure that you get a good clean tight connection, and if you can, solder it, and use shrink wrap on it to get a good watertight seal with less chances of it corroding in the future. I do that with all the wirin...

Thanks for the diagram, I appreciate it. I will print this off, and unplug the connector, and see if it takes care of the problem.

Re: no power plugs and intake sensors or controls clogged

I stand corrected. I did not realize they had put a filter in that spot. I could not get mine off either. I guess I will have to pull the whole piece out, and try to get it apart.

Re: Check Oil Light in dash is on

It is the yellow check light. It had come on after I had done some work under the hood. I had replaced the heater hoses and some vacuum lines. There were some wires in a loom hanging down behind the alternator going to the engine and over to the fenderwell by the batttery. I tucked them up, and tape...

Re: transmission or clutch

Also if the flywheel bolts are broken, it wouldn't be able to start. So you either have a clutch problem, or a busted tranny. Sorry for the bad news.

Re: spray on fiberglass

Rhino lining works great on interiors. I have had 3 rigs done with it, and have had no problems with them. Not too sure about the whole fiberglass thing tho.
