Re: runs untill its warm (video)
So I called a mobile mechanic to come and take a look at the ol Bronco this past Thursday. Heres the steps he went through. 1. Start and run engine several times to listen for anything abnormal. 10 mins 2. Have me run the engine and hold the rpms up to about 2.5k to keep it running while he sprayed ...

Re: Fuel problems
The switch is 2 wires. Inside the box is a metal funnel and a metal ball that is slightly magnetized. When the ball is in the funnel current flows and thus the pumps work. When the ball is kicked out of the funnel by a hard jolt there is a lever that catches the ball and suspends it above the funnel ...

Re: runs untill its warm (video)
So I got out this morning and messed with the ol truck a bit. I found that I was able ot keep it running if I held the rpms at about 2k or above. At times I had to give it more throttle when it would try and sputter out. Giving it throttle would bogg it down a bit then the mixture I suppose would ...

Re: runs untill its warm (video)
I first tried a used regulator but like you I was suspicious of it being faulty so I got a new one. The new one is the one thats on ther now. On the video the regulator shows that it seems to be able to hold 8-10 lbs of pressure but it needs about 30 or so to stay running. Can you tell from the way ...

Re: runs untill its warm (video)
Was getting some stuff to fix a motorcycle today and I ran across a cheap fuel pressure gauge so I got it. Hooked it up when I got home and it appears that my problem is the high pressure pump on the side rail. Heres a video link of it on Megavideo. http://www.megavideo.com/?v=G6GJJ5CZ After ...

Re: Just one fuel pump?
Is the pump from an 89 a direct fit or do I need to get the whole $150 assembly with the sender for that?

Re: runs untill its warm (video)
A fuel pressure gauge is 1 of the few tools I don't have. Could I just use a dial face air gauge and attch or hold it on the fuel rail port?

Re: runs untill its warm (video)
Sorry for the delay I had to work on Friday and Saturday. This morning I undid the EGR and that didn't help anything or change it at all. I 1st just pulled the green tube off the EGR (the one that goes to a type of pressure switch next to the starter relay), no change. So I reconnected the green ...

Re: runs untill its warm
I thought about keeping the fuel system mod in this thread tek but I thought it shoud be a seperate thread since it is a mod rather than dealing with my no run problem. If any info was posted here on it I was going to transfer it over to the new thread as to keep things organized for someone that ...
