I think you're missin my objective, my bad. The reason I'm asking so intently about the pilot bushing is because the old one got wasted and it appeared to have been in the flywheel, so I was trying to prevent it from happening again by double checking our work. The flywheel has been off a couple tim...

Well This should make it interesting: I took Nobodys advice, and called a local ford place, and asked for someone who could help w/ a technical question. They passed me around until I finally got a tech, who had this to say: Pilot bushing goes in the crankshaft, you must remove the flywheel to put i...

Looks like the original clutch as well.
If the bushing dried out with age, I guess I could see it happening.

I'm sure the tranny isn't too much longer for this world, hope to hold out for a TK, if I can ever stop nickel-and-diming on the other perishable parts..

The Pilot bushing can be installed in the flywheel or the crank shaft. I think BII's can in both configurations depending which transmission was used, and the input shaft length. I can't say for sure your on application, although it's easy enough to figure out. If is appears to be behind the flywee...

need help: FM145 clutch-related

I am in the process of putting in a new Hays clutch kit, T/O bearing, pilot bushing, and a new slave cyl. In the process the hydro tube from the master to the slave cracked, so I'm waiting to get that part so we can finish this morning. I urgently need to know two things in order to complete this: 1...

Fenders need further trimming, paint and lights need to be done...but the fit is good. I need some trimlok or something to hide my sloppy grinder work.. Pics were pos...

Just a lil update: Got the grill roughed-in and on the truck, still needs painted, and gotta wire up lights and get the headlight components & hardware. Found a guy who will sell me all the stuff except headlights for about $67.00. I went w/ your suggestion Nobody, and ditched the BII valance le...

Thanks for the input. I'm leaning towards the Hays, the difference in price means I could afford to replace the slave with an upgrade while I'm in there, which would be kinda nice since I'm pretty sure it's the original slave cylinder from '87. I have a hard time trusting O.E. clutch discs. Worked i...

I really like the blaze orange..looks like you rattle-canned that w/ the orange safety/marker paint my dad used to use when he was an operating engineer. I've got alot done so far, I've got it about 80% down to bare metal, and I trimmed the sides to within a few inches, to make test fitting alot eas...

I am STOKED!

I'll be sure to get pics as I go (if I can do so without screwing em up lol)

I have a question about wheel offset and backspacing, and the application of both. I was wondering if one couldn't use fullsize axles (9" and D44) and use wheels with less offset and alot of backspacing to move the wheels and tires back inwards, thereby reducing the amount of tire outside of th...

Well I'll be truthful, I can't stand the stock location for the hoodlatch handle, it's constantly hanging up on the cuff of my pants when I clutch. I thought about it for a while, and I think I'll remove the entire assembly from handle to hood, and trade up for some hoodpins with the cylinder or bar...

Did you have any issues with the headlights and stuff, and clearance? I'm going to try to roll a lip on the outer edge, and see if I can attach the grill right to the sheetmetal the curls behind the stock grill ('87 front end). Attach with a half dozen security screws along the sides, then fab up a ...
