Downhill she's really smooth and quiet as a church mouse. Up hill, tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap....lo...

Re: lowering the hitch?

had a mechanic at my motorcycle shop use his impact gun to get that rusted ball hitch off...what a PAIN. at any rate all done. With the receiver bolted to the step, I can literally stand on it and bounce. Very happy with the finished product and I'm sure I'll feel better towing it knowing it's not a...

Re: problems, problems, problems

when this happens to motorcycles, it's usually the clutch cable...very loose. If it's too loose, the lever will hit the hand grip before the clutch is disengaged and gears shifted, esentially making the clutch inoperable. A too tight clutch cable would make it so the clutch lever wouldn't have to tr...

Re: misfire + checklight.. uk owner

pull your spark plugs, that will tell you where the misfire is. Also check your plug wires from the distributor cap and make sure the right wire goes from the correct pin on the cap to the correct spark plug. also if you can, jump the check engine light code retriever under the hood if you have one....

Re: lowering the hitch?

hm ok thanks. I was worried about trailer sway since the tongue weight would be so light. yes I'm working removing the ball hitch - it's rusted to all hell and needs to be sawed off. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/_apCb7vueoAc/TU9wzehcOYI/AAAAAAAACl4/ZDXwPlufG10/s800/DSC05574.JPG https://lh4.goog...

Re: lowering the hitch?

yea I google searched and found someone that did the welding - not my thing. this appears to be the same size as the step bumper, it seems this should bolt right up, as long as I can find a way to get holes drilled in that step. That's some solid metal. http://www.harborfreight.com/media/catalog/pro...

Re: Bronco II rocking badly on freeway

worn springs in the front, leaf springs in the back, shocks/struts. Sway bar may need new bushings.

If you can't check that stuff out yourself, take it to a shop.

Re: Annoying problems... are annoying.

well maybe not - below were mine about 5 or 6 months ago. I pulled them to change them and the spark plug wires after I bought the truck 2 years ago. The truck ran noticeably better and still is. Worth a shot unless they are like literally dripping with oil. At least you'd know how fast they are fou...

lowering the hitch?

is there anything I can get that will lower the hitch on the truck? Some friends said I can bolt up one of those square hitch recievers to the step that's currently there where the ball is, then just get a square hitch reciever with a 2-5 inch ball drop. https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/_apCb7vueoA...

oh ok. So it's a 90 then. It's over an hour away so if I go to test drive, I'm probably going to get it. Anything to look for?

Re: loud clicking when the wheels turn semi-hard to either s

thanks I'll look into that.

haven't had the need for 4x4 since it happened and she's doin good now. So if it happens again, I'll look into cleaning them or replacing what may be needed.
