It Can't Be This Tough To Replace the Headlight Switch!!!!

My headlights in my 88 B2 are out most of the time so I bought a new headlight switch. I can't figure out how to get to the old switch, even though I've taken off the trim, etc, as specified in the Chilton manual. I feel like Marlin Perkins wrestling alligators! Can anyone help me, or does anyone ha...

Re: Were to find interior parts

LMC Truck carries a little bit and I think they also carry UV-resistant, spray-on dyes for interior parts. Look in junkyards, too. Even if a panel is the wrong color, you can always dye it.

building a wiring harness

I have an 88 Bronco II, 5-speed, 2.9L, 4WD. There's an 89 Bronco II in a local junk yard that I'm thinking about stripping the wiring from and using it as a pattern for a new harness for my 88. I don't know if the junker was standard or automatic, but it does have power windows (mine doesn't). Any c...

UPDATED: Stalling After Rplacing Idle Air Control Valve

I have an 88 Bronco II, 2.9L, standard transmission, 4-WD, fuel injection. Lately I've been having trouble with occasional stalling and a general loss of power (in addition to the intermittent engine hesitiation/stumble that many others complain about). I mentioned this to one of the Auto Zone staff...

Re: 88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (Updated 4/13/2010)

Well, the shop tested the fuel pressure with the vehicle on and off, and everything came back within specs. He also feels that the fuel pressure readings would have told him if there was a problem with the fuel injectors. He says nothing unusual came out of the filters, so he thinks those are good, ...

Re: 88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (Updated 4/13/2010)

I noticed this morning that I had little or no trouble with it. The only difference that I can think of was that I backed into the driveway and parked the B2 with the nose facing up hill overnight. Is there a 2nd fuel filter that I don't know about that might be clogged?

Re: 88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (UPDATED 4/13)

Okay, now for an update. I've also had the O2 sensor changed, a tune-up (shop said the timing was 10 degrees off), and various wires under the hood replaced that showed damaged insulation (to rule out an intermittent short). I've also run probably 8-10 bottles of Lucas through it. I thought that wou...

88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (Updated 4/13/2010)

Hi, I've got an 88 Bronco II with the 2.9L, V-6, fuel injected engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. It's 4-WD. Air filter was changed about 3 months ago and is still clean. The alternator and battery are about 7 months old. Oil filter, oil changes and oil level are good. A few weeks ago I start...

Odd Electirc Problem

Noob here with the weird question of the month...... I recently bought an 88-B2. It has the usual issues of leaks, needs a/c conversion, etc, but all in all, I'm delighted with it. I wish I'd bought a Ford years ago. The problem is with the horn and key-ignition warning (and any other warning chimes...
