the working pressure for the intank pump on an 89 & newer is 40ish lbs.... you can't use it with a carbed engine. if you choke it back that far it will overheat and burn up the motor in it. you could probably use an 86-88 intank feed pump for a carb.

just replace the high pressure pump on the frame rail with a regular electric pump.... block off the mechanical pump and run the serp belt

my 86 BII has a 4" lift with stock front driveline and it's fine.... have you got a kit yet? if not, we can get you a screaming deal on a rough country kit.... comes with lowered pitman arm, and shocks

i'm running 31s with 3.73 gears on my 86 BII with 5 speed and it is ok.... could be a little lower.... i wouls say 4.11 with 33's.... 4.56 with 35's... 4.56 would probably be good with either though

PINION ANGLES SHOULD BE OK WITH A 4".... KITS USUALLY COME WITH WEDGED BLOCK FOR THE REAR

i got a 10,000 beaver electric winch if anybody is interested.... made in oregon by beaver mfg.... i was going to use it on a trailer, but sold the trailer.... $225.

when my 86 was stock the largest tire i could fit without rubbing was a 225/75/15... my 88 has 235's on it sitting stock, since i haven't driven it yet i can't say if they rub, although there are no rub marks on it the 2.9 in my 86 seems to have plenty of power for normal driving, i've pulled a trai...

i have a 4" coming for my 88, i opted to go with block instead of new leafs in the rear..... the rear doesn't sag now so it should have a decent ride

around here a fm146 can be had from pull-a-part for $60. a m5od is gold plated.... boneyards want $600-$800 for a hopefully good one.... so it's a no brainer which one i'd go with.... then, like you, when a m5od came along reasonable i'd grab it up
