Actually, plowboy, you seem to have a decent grasp on how it works. This helps show part of why many large corporations are so much pushing for a "world economy". If its all one big labour pool and one big market, then it simplifies things at the corporate level. It also makes it easier fo...

Greed and economics are two words that equal the same thing. Greed is the vice...economics is the means of feeding that vice I don't think there's really much that either Bush OR Kerry could do to prevent foreign outsourcing, short of slapping import duties on everything, but with too many import du...

So why out source? Why move jobs to other North American company's? Its called economics. If it costs you $10 to make a part in the US, $7 to make it in Mexico (including freight), or $5.75 to make it in China (including freight), then who are you going to get to make it for you? (anyone remember t...

Outsourcing of manufacturing, mostly to China (the next world superpower.....and that scares me...)

NAFTA (to a lesser degree) Yeah, a lot of us Canucks ain't fond of that piece of trash, either!

the EEC. By combining, the economic power in Europe has had repercussions world-wide.

I'm still around, but I've been busy. I had to move back in February (after almost 9 years of parts-collecting!), then I had to move again at the end of September (ON MY FRIGGIN' BIRTHBAY!!!), and now I'm moving AGAIN in 2 weeks. The last two moves were/will be done by myself, with a 3/4 ton pickup ...

Except that most 85's have the 2.8 and a mechanical fuel pump. The diaphram doesn't much care if its pumping fuel, water, or air :D

Excellent choice of donor. Off the top of my head, the only issues likely to develop are: gastank location (EFI tank needed...86-90 BII should work), rear spring perch location (I think an Explorer flip kit would work), possibly need to shorten the front driveshaft an inch, and maybe a few wiring ch...

Nope. I've heard of someone doing a custom 2.9 intake with a carb, but it was just that: CUSTOM Oh, and Ford did much better with their TFI/EEC-IV ignition on the EFI engines than the butcher-job they used on the 2.8 Ranger/BII... I've owned both cars and trucks with the 2.8 and my Ranger has a 2.9....

With the 2.9 (or the 4.0), its mostly a bolt-in, other than the harness/computer and the fuel system. Both are EFI only though.

If you want to swap to another carbed engine, you are probably looking at either a replacement 2.8 or a 302

Blue...Calm down dude. Sometimes things get crossed, and interprited the wrong way. My comment to ya was mostly just for the entertainment, and a slight poke at ya over how some of your posts at TRS came across. If you want to see me UN-calm, check out a couple of my recent posts at BlueOvalNews. R...

I'm being a dirtbag..... :redneck:

Been a sh*tty week, and I got a nasty blood blister while tuning my $5 bicycle this morning, so I made and hung a hammock in the backyard and lay back smokin' a bit o' Mother Nature. :D

But I agree with the choptop mostly beacuse I want to chop mine really bad.... 1 custom soft top: Maybe $500 for something REALLY nice. Cage or rollbar: another few hundred or so (depending on who who know and what equipment you have access to) 5" angle grinder and a few zip-cut discs: Maybe $...
