The snow is fun to drive in but it sucks at the same time, I know, talking circles.

Re: C4 Adaptor to Borg Warner tcase
Saturday I made my shaft. I had a hell of a time drilling the holes to plug weld but after a few hours I finished drilling 4 holes, then welded the holes shut with the welder turned up about as hot as the metal would take without melting it. When I welded the to shaftes together at the top of the pr...

Re: Looking @ a Bronco
Its easy to swap to an automatic.
I put a C4 in my b2 with a 289. The floor pan had a section around the shifter lever from my 5 speed, that I could unscrew and it opened up a large hole for the auto on the floor.

Re: Looking @ a Bronco
I think he is trying to say that if the Diff is locked up you cant move the rig no matter what you do, its locked up. If you remove the drive line and it still will not roll then its no the Tcase or tranny. If the diff is locked or the Tcase is bad the motor will change pitch and sound like there is...

Re: Engine comp wiring help
I just cut all my wires out of a 87 B2. I just installed a 289 in my B2, so I have looked over most of the harness while I was sorting out what I needed and what was junk. Looking at the second pic, it looks liket the plug that goes to the alternator. If so it should have to slots that look like a h...

Re: 1990 bronco II drive line help
for less than $100 go to your local you pull it and get one off an explorer. They take the same 12mm 12 point, take both flanges and driveline. Cut down the driveline, weld on the end for the U joint, then take it to the local driveline shop and have them balcance it. You can drive it without balanc...

Re: C4 Adaptor to Borg Warner tcase
come on Dave, not everyone is a glass half empty guy. Not everyone is a hard core off road person either. The Machine shop I work with builds race engines for drag and street as well as every day stuff. Borg warner transfer case 1350 is rated for 300 HP, it will hold up to a stock big block just fin...

Re: C4 Adaptor to Borg Warner tcase
I trust the man at the machine shop. This shop has been around since the the mid sixties, and going strong today. He has done it several times, and never broke one yet. There is a myth out there that you cant work with the hardend shafts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4K7eQBc7bKk Tom has had this s...

Re: C4 Adaptor to Borg Warner tcase
I have not built the adaptor yet, but I do have a pattern to follow. There is a guy on youtube that put a big block in his B2 and he made an adaptor for a turbo 350 chevy tranny to the tcase. I the idea is a copy of how the brush hog mowers PTO shaft is built. I talked with the head man at the machi...

Re: Home build schakles
seems OK. I am almost done with the V8 swap so I will have to change the driveline to a real DL. I will add a CV joint in the new DL so it will work fine.

Re: 2.9 rebuild
There are a few other heads that can be bought after market to fix the head problem on your 2.9 but it all about the money. If you have a cracked head look into the 4.0 swap. Do not go into the 4.0 thinking its a fast cheap fix. You need all the stuff under the hood including the rad. Research it be...

http://i360.photobucket.com/albums/oo47/rp560/broncoaftershackles003.jpg 4 inch lift but the new spring where holding the front at 6" so I built shackles and leveled the B2 so I am sitting about 6 inches. 31x10.5 tires. I am getting ready to put a 2 inch body lift on, I am started on the V8 sw...

Re: C4 Adaptor to Borg Warner tcase
well now I have found the way make a spud shaft. I eamailed a guy (Tom) and he built one using the same idea that a brush hog pto shaft is built. If my 289 makes more torque than a 200 HP John Deere then I need to be worried but I think I can sleep well knowing that is not the case. I will look for ...
