Re: 86 b2 zero fuel pressure?

Do not wire around the interia switch, for any reason. You may forget doing it, and Death by fire is slow and Really Sucks You can test the interia switch for power with a test light or meter. Check to see if you have power thru the switch. If yes then check both pumps, theres one in the tank, and ...

Re: b2 dies over bumps

Most probably a defective power or ground connection, where is the question. I have seen the ECU relay contacts get so bad they would do this. Also if someone has changed the ECU relay and hard mounted it to the fender liner it will do it on most every bump, new or old. There is a spring mount for e...

Most likely leaves and such, blocking the drains under the wiper area, common issue with large vents under wipers no matter the mfg, if you park under trees.

Re: 1988 Bronco II is bogging down.

If you believe the TFI is the issue, unplug the sprout connector, check base timing, with the engine hot. Reinstall the sprout and start the engine, check timing and record at idle an 2K RPM. If you don't know what it should be,(with the sprout installed) drive the truck until it acts up, recheck ti...

Re: 1989 bronco ii using water

You can try an retighten the lower intake bolts, but if your suspect its the intake gasket, nothing other than replacing it, will correctly solve the problem. If your going to replace it, be very carefull when removing it, so your able to read the gasket an sealing metal, for a correct read as to if...

Re: 1989 bronco ii using water

It pulls water from recovery tank overnight like it should. But it never pushes water in it when hot so i have to add water.Have pressure checked cap and put same pressure on radiator.leaving the pressure tester on radiator for 15 mins. the pressure only dropped about the width of the needle. While p...

Re: Voltage to Ignition Coil-No spark-Help

Yes it could be, and that can be checked quickly with a ohm meter, or test light. If test light, take the clip and place it onto the + post of the battery, then to the - side to insure the light is working. With the probe, touch the engine in many places, including the Dist case. Everywhere you touc...

Re: 1990 bronco II oil pressure problem please help!

Any time you trying to find/correct a problem, start at the begining.
Hook up a manuel gauge with a long hose/line and run it into the cabin where you can watch it while your driving. If the pressure is good then there is an electrical issue, not an engine issue.

Inside the Cabin

Back side of inst. cluster, where the dash lights, warning bulbs, 4X4 lights, ect an ribbon strip are. You'll have to disconnect the speedo cable to get the dash out.

Re: Tech specs for fluids

ATF runs well in either the auto's or Manuels. I've ran Dextron III in my 5 speed an transfer case for over 10 years, w/o issue. Shifts better/easier, runs cooler, as well.

Re: '86 Bronco II computer

IF the dealer has data back that far he can look it up under the VIN number. Lots of parts folks want you, to do their job, anymore. I would not buy one from a Dealer myself, unless it was a last ditch fix, as they are way to costly. Call a local salvage yard, if they don't have one, they can do a w...

Re: NEED HELP WITH 88 BRONCO II, PLEASE HELP!!

Getting mad or upset and asking the same question in 3 or more posts will not correct anything. A good mech will save you time, money, and keep your blood pressure down. If your trying to save money, and learn at the same time thats great. If it's getting correct spark, fuel, air, and it's in time i...

Re: Trouble with my 1990 2.9

Test light to the - side of the coil while trying to start it. The light should pulse on an off. If it does not, could be Dist. not turning, computer issue, computer relay/wiring issue, TFI problem, rotor broken/missing, broken/unconnected coil wire. or wiring between the Dist an coil, or defective ...

Re: 1986 Bronco II, low oil pressure

Check the pressure with a manual gauge first, if OK it could be the sender, it's self, or the dash board Voltage regulator. Take the wire attached to the sender off and ground it, with the key in the run pos, the gauge should read max. If it does, the wiring and dash gauge, and dash voltage regulato...

Re: 88 B-II Hesitation/Power Loss (Updated 4/13/2010)

It could be the computer, but I'd check the Dist. trigger and TFI first. Do not replace the TFI w/o replacing the trigger. This requires the Dist to be pulled as the shaft has to come out to replace the trigger. Many times I've seen the timing to be unstable to a point that the engine will not run c...
