There was a slight tick before I changed the head gasket and heads, however it is very predominant now. The tick seems to be comming from both sides. No I didn't adjust the valves I know just about enough to be dangerous when it comes to automotive work but I'm allways willing to learn. Thanks, Steve

Just thought I'd let you know that after changing out the pickup coil in the distributor i haven't had any problems with sputter or coughing.
