9" Axle Bearing Question
I have a 9" (big bearing ends) from a 74EB under my BII and swapped in a Detroit with 31-spline Yukons a few years ago. One side started leaking a bit of gear oil and I currently have the axle out. When I installed the axles, they came with 4 pieces. A Timken U399A bearing, Timken U365L race, s...

Dana 44 spindles
I have a Dana 44 under my BII that was bought off of Ebay and supposedly came out of a '74 EB. I have a damaged spindle and need a replacement. There are no EB's on the yards close to home and both Advance and Auto Zone tell me they cannot even order it. Anyone know if the same spindles were used on...

Re: solid front axle swap
My bracket is home fabbed. I had it out at Duff Enterprises here in Knoxville a few months ago. I noticed a big ass RV that usually isn't there in front, but didn't think much of it. I'm standing at the parts counter talking to Brian (who drives a Jeep with Duff radius arms/springs) and glance out t...

Re: solid front axle swap
I have some pics of mine on myspace. http://www.myspace.com/general_fu Mine is running a Dana44 up front and a 9" Ford in the rear from an early Bronco. Other mods are 5.0 HO from a Mustang GT, NP435 4-speed, and an NP205 transfer case. I run 35" tires and the lift consists of 3.5" ea...

Gatlinburg, TN BroncoII Bash - TRS 10th Anniversary
I hope no one minds me posting this. I just found out from a guy I met on the trail over the weekend (who happened to be driving a BII on Rockwells) about this BII get together in the Smoky Mountains in a few weeks. Since I happen to live very close by I am hoping for a nice turn out and to see many...

Re: help with a 9in
Here is a link to the 9" axles page at Broncograveyard.com I recently ordered and received a set of these yesterday and will be installing tomorrow. You need to know which wheel bearing size you have, brake drum inside diameter, and brake shoe width to figure out which axles you need. These are...

Re: Need Quick Axle help!!!!!!
Yes they are for the big axle bearing. My 9" has 11" drums, 2 1/4 brake shoes, and the lengths are correct. Looks like they are going to work, but I won't know for sure until tomorrow. I was just a little shocked that they are Yukons for $258.98 delivered, AND included new retainer plates,...

Re: Need Quick Axle help!!!!!!
Won't be able to install before Saturday, but the axles were delivered today. Since the page didn't list a manufacturer, I was expecting brown box axles with no name brand. They are Yukon axles. :-)

Re: Need Quick Axle help!!!!!!
Curious what makes you so certain. I have seen sites that say there were and some that say there were not 31-spline EB's from Ford. The places that say they exist all say they were late production...and only some of those. I did find it interesting that when I had Auto Zone check ALL years of EB's l...

Well this and a few other references I have seen around lead me believe that there were SOME EB's with 31-spline axles from factory, although they do appear to have been a rarity.

Re: Need Quick Axle help!!!!!!
I'm looking for a cheaper aftermarket set, but according to my research, Ford did make some EB's with the 31-spline axles from 1975.5-1977.
